LaKeshia Payton, EdD is a native of Fayetteville, NC, but grew up in East St. Louis, IL. Although she grew up in an environment of instability, her desire to serve and live her life on purpose prevailed. Throughout her career, she has served as a district level homeless school social worker, social worker, assistant principal, lead mentor for beginning teachers and federal grant program director for eight high-risk schools.
Upon graduation, Dr. Payton joined the U.S. Air Force and stands today as a retired veteran. Dr. Payton obtained her Bachelor's in Social Work from UNC Pembroke, a Master's in Public Administration from Troy University, a Master's of School Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Wingate University.
